About Logan

Professional

Logan has an extensive history of community building, involvement, and organization. Since becoming a resident of Lincoln in 2017, he has taken an active role in organizing his community, creating numerous social oriented groups to serve the needs of those around him and driving increased involvement, belonging, and activity in the community.

In 2017, upon moving to Lincoln, Logan found his calling and passion in working with youth in our community, and is currently the Director of an early childhood center in Lincoln.

Whether it has been in the the course of volunteering as a Big through Big Brothers Big Sisters, running an after-school program, managing a Community Learning Center, serving as a Director of early childhood programs, or utilizing his personal time to organize the community, Logan has committed himself to improving our community through service.

Personal

Logan lives in the Near South neighborhood, with his wife, Katelyn, their son, Oliver, and their two cats, Billy and Happy.

He spends his free time reading, working on his home, enthusiastically supporting the Huskers, volunteering in the community, and going on bike rides - mostly to the children’s zoo - with his son.

Southeast Community College has played an important role in my growth as a father, husband, and individual. It was SCC that, after an incredible setback early in my education, gave me the opportunity to continue pursuing my education and make something of myself, in spite of my circumstances. It was at SCC that I met the love of my life, and my future wife, Katelyn, along with many great people and friends who played large parts in my life. It was SCC that, time and time again, I found opportunity to better myself in a variety a different ways from collaborations that strengthened organizations I worked with, to education, to personal interests that furthered my curiosity. It was at SCC where, serving on the Beatrice campus Student Senate, I developed a passion for leadership.

Southeast Community College is a large factor in the man I am today, and I believe it is time I gave back through the one way I know how - service.

If elected to the Board of Governors, I will continue working as I always have to ensure that SCC is poised to continue making a positive difference in the lives of those it serves. I will strive to increase community voice and involvement in decision making. I will advocate that the transformative and life changing effects that education can have on a person’s life are continued to be made accessible to all who seek it, regardless of their condition. I will collaborate with my peers to keep SCC innovative and responsive in the face of the increasingly uncertain, dynamic, and ever changing economic, labor, and education environments.
